Hello all i am new to opera so please bare with me.

The gui page does not display anything for me...

my pc is running windows xp pro sp2

This is what i have done so far

Copied webui_v0.310_beta_2.rar to %appdata%\utorrent

i have enable the web UI in utorrent (utorrent version is 1.7.5)

username is admin and i have set a password

i have changed the port to 80 ( i do not have a webserver currently)

now in when i goto 127.0.0.1/gui (in both IE7 & Opera (v 9.24)) it comes up with the login page and i put in the username and password that i set in utorrent, then it just loads a white page this is the source:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">

<HTML><HEAD>

<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"></HEAD>

<BODY></BODY></HTML>

i have tried restarting utorrent but i still cannot get it to work....

i have also tried to put in the wrong pasword, and it brings up another box asking for it again, i just had a friend try to access it over the net on his computer using my dynDNS url and he tried the guest account (i did enable) and he says it doesnt display anything either.

can anyone help me with this?

(p.s. sorry if the answer is right under my nose but didnt see it....)

but in the readme is says "DO NOT unzip it"...?

oh im sorry

gheeze im retarded

i didnt realize there was a webui.zip in the zip folder... and i unzip the main folder....

but now when i try to access it, it says "The request to uTorrent has timed out."

but i can access it fine using the guest account

after doing a search i found that IE7 reports this... it works fine in opera

Uhm, close that window, open a new one.

Since you're on the console, make sure you have not mis-advertently locked localhost out under Ctrl-P -> Advanced -> WebUI -> Restrict access...

http://user:pass@ip:port/gui/ or manually typing in the user/pass should work just fine. If not you can turn on ... "errors" i think it is which shows invalid login attempts, and "verbose" shows all webui access...

You can see everything loading
