ilovemaja Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 I didnt have this problem before, but i have this problem now for last month. When i didnt have this problem, i had winxp sp1 without other patches. I could dl how much i wannted and no bsod ever. Then i formated my pc and installed winxp sp2, and problems started. When i was dl from utorrent everything will be ok for a hour or two, maybe some more, but then i always got a bsod. I checked mini dump, and the cause was my realtek lan. The problem was only when utorrent was on and downloading, without utorrent i didnt get any bsod.I then reformated again, and installed winxp pre sp2, and i have this problem like with sp2.So i was thinkink maybe the driver of my lan was the problem, but i dont think so. I tryed diferent version, from cd to newest one on realtek page. Then i think is probably a problem with winxp post sp1 + utorrent + realtek drivers.I was thinkink to reformat again but to winpx sp1 only this time, like when it worked, but then i got one idea. I tryed vmware with winxp sp3 beta and utorrent not only work great, but dl speeds are better than on my normal winxp. So for now it will stay like this if its stable. This is just a story to help other who have or had problems with utorrent and bsod, try with vmware.
Switeck Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 Get HijackThis! and do some research (hint: GOOGLE searches) on any strange DLLs or EXEs on your computer.Even commercial stuff may have known compatibility issues...it just takes searches to find evidence of that.
jewelisheaven Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 It could just be outdated/buggy drivers.Update the mobo drivers for LAN.
ilovemaja Posted December 18, 2007 Author Report Posted December 18, 2007 Hijackthis didnt find anything strange. I scanned my pc with these tools: Avg anti rootkit tool, Housecall online scan, Bit defender online scan. I have updated my lan drivers to latest one (i say that in first post too)The next thing i will try is to install Windows xp, and then install only sp1 without others patches/fixes , but i will install that only after new year.But for now i will just download/upload with vmware, because is very reliable, i didnt get any crash, and my download speeds are better than in normal windows xp.I posted my log file of hijack this, and if something is wrong with that i will remove it.Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2Scan saved at 8:50:04, on 18.12.2007Platform: Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600)MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP1 (6.00.2800.1106)Boot mode: NormalRunning processes:C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXEC:\Program Files\D-Tools\daemon.exeC:\WINDOWS\RTHDCPL.EXEC:\WINDOWS\Mixer.exeC:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\CLI.EXEC:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmware-tray.exeC:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Workstation\hqtray.exeC:\programi\taskassign\TaskAssign.exeC:\WINDOWS\ALCFDRTM.EXEC:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\bin\httpd.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmware-authd.exeC:\driver plosca in graficna\programi za instalirat\ProcessExplorer\procexp.exeC:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\bin\httpd.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\VMware\VMware Virtual Image Editing\vmount2.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\vmnat.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\vmnetdhcp.exeC:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\cli.exeC:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\cli.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\taskmgr.exeC:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmware.exeC:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Workstation\bin\vmware-vmx.exeC:\Program Files\eMule\emule.exeC:\programi\Teamspeak2_RC2 server\server_windows.exeC:\programi\Teamspeak2_RC2\TeamSpeak.exeC:\programi\Opera\Opera.exeC:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exeO3 - Toolbar: &Radio - {8E718888-423F-11D2-876E-00A0C9082467} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\msdxm.ocxO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DAEMON Tools-1033] "C:\Program Files\D-Tools\daemon.exe" -lang 1033O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RTHDCPL] RTHDCPL.EXEO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [skyTel] SkyTel.EXEO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Alcmtr] ALCMTR.EXEO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [C-Media Mixer] Mixer.exe /startupO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ATICCC] "C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\CLIStart.exe"O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -kO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [vmware-tray] C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmware-tray.exeO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [VMware hqtray] "C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Workstation\hqtray.exe"O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NeroFilterCheck] C:\WINDOWS\system32\NeroCheck.exeO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [amd_dc_opt] C:\Program Files\AMD\Dual-Core Optimizer\amd_dc_opt.exeO4 - Startup: Shortcut to TaskAssign.lnk = C:\programi\taskassign\TaskAssign.exeO9 - Extra button: (no name) - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - C:\WINDOWS\bdoscandel.exeO9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Uninstall BitDefender Online Scanner v8 - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - C:\WINDOWS\bdoscandel.exeO9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htmO9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htmO16 - DPF: {0EB0E74A-2A76-4AB3-A7FB-9BD8C29F7F75} (CKAVWebScan Object) - http://www.kaspersky.com/kos/eng/partner/default/kavwebscan_unicode.cabO16 - DPF: {215B8138-A3CF-44C5-803F-8226143CFC0A} (Trend Micro ActiveX Scan Agent 6.6) - http://housecall65.trendmicro.com/housecall/applet/html/native/x86/win32/activex/hcImpl.cabO16 - DPF: {56762DEC-6B0D-4AB4-A8AD-989993B5D08B} (OnlineScanner Control) - http://www.eset.eu/buxus/docs/OnlineScanner.cabO16 - DPF: {5D86DDB5-BDF9-441B-9E9E-D4730F4EE499} (BDSCANONLINE Control) - http://download.bitdefender.com/resources/scan8/oscan8.cabO23 - Service: Apache2.2 - Apache Software Foundation - C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\bin\httpd.exeO23 - Service: ATI Smart - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ati2sgag.exeO23 - Service: VMware Agent Service (ufad-ws60) - VMware, Inc. - C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmware-ufad.exeO23 - Service: VMware Authorization Service (VMAuthdService) - VMware, Inc. - C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware Workstation\vmware-authd.exeO23 - Service: VMware DHCP Service (VMnetDHCP) - VMware, Inc. - C:\WINDOWS\System32\vmnetdhcp.exeO23 - Service: VMware Virtual Mount Manager Extended (vmount2) - VMware, Inc. - C:\Program Files\Common Files\VMware\VMware Virtual Image Editing\vmount2.exeO23 - Service: VMware NAT Service - VMware, Inc. - C:\WINDOWS\System32\vmnat.exe--End of file - 4498 bytes
jewelisheaven Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 If it's not the drivers, what is the blue screen message error and fingered driver file?
ilovemaja Posted December 18, 2007 Author Report Posted December 18, 2007 The problem is it dont say any file, its without name of file responsible for bsod.Thats why i then installed debuging tools for windows and opened mini dump, and there i got that the cause of bsod was : realtek lan driver named: Rtenicxp.sys
Firon Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 Realtek drivers has caused some BSODs for me too, but mine just says BUGCODE_NDIS_DRIVER.
