fabricebaro
I have been using uTorrent for a while. Version 1.7.5 worked perfectly fine until the interface became extremely unresponsive. At first I thought uTorrent froze on startup, but I realized it didn't, but it takes litterally minutes do anything like adding a torrent, or maximizing/restoring. The problem seem identical to the one described in http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=27958My firewall is BitDefender 10, avast antivirus 4.7, router is D-Link DI-524 firmware 5.10. Everything used to work fine, I have forwarded the correct port. I have tried disabling firewall and antivirus, with no effect. The problem seems to have started with a firewall alert: (blank program name) trying to access utorrent.com. This seems to be related to utorrent.exe, so I allowed access. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling utorrent. I went through the registry to remove references to utorrent, but all I found seemed to be related to the context menu and .torrent file association, so I didn't remove anything. The problem hasn't disappeared. Now I don't want to have to resort to use another client...

jewelisheaven
If this is new something changed. I can concur about the startup "freeze". This is due to uT first loading in all of the torrent data before it shows the main GUI. Before it loads in 2000 torrents and their information the main GUI does not show up.As far as "recently", what changed around then? As far as uTorrent settings, yep they are all in the .exe file's directory or %APPDATA%\uTorrent .I'm not sure how your anti virus works, but if there is a way for it to "except" your download folder, it is possible this is causing the slowdown.
