Why not setting max active downloads/torrents=20 (or bigger)?

Occasionally I download more than a dozend of torrents at the same time.

Currently my setting is max active downloads=8

Why not increasing this value to 15 or 20 or even 50 downloads?

The current average download rate (~35 kbits) is far below the (theoretic) maximum of 184 kbps

So is there any reason to keep the max number of active torrents/download low ?

Be patient and run the Speed Guide properly.

For the sake of people you're supposedly uploading to, it is not fair or beneficial to run 20+ torrents at once unless you have 1 megabits/sec usable upload bandwidth MINIMUM.

If you're downloading a lot faster than you're uploading, then your download speed "gain" by adding additional torrents is likely minimal at best...even NEGATIVE.
