nonameduck
It's throwing off my QoS. For example, I have port 9999 set in uTorrent. However, when I check my firewall, I see that uTorrent is using 9999 along with a bunch of other random ports. Since the ports it uses are random, I can't set up QoS correctly in my router. Anybody know what's going on?
Ultima
http://www.ncftp.com/ncftpd/doc/misc/ephemeral_ports.htmlEphemeral ports are used for outgoing connections by applications -- µTorrent is no exception.
jewelisheaven
You can specify a set range of outgoing ports through Ctrl-P -> Advanced net.outgoing_port & net.outgoing_max_port I would recommend getting Ultima's µManual (linked below) to read about all of the advanced settings and features uT supports
Firon
Port-based QoS is not a particularly great idea because in the case of BT, both the local and remote port vary.
