not enough room on disk

i am downloading this file that is 4 gigs and whenever it goes to .1 percent i recieve this error.

i know this is wrong because i have plenty of room.

and i even tried downloading to my external but still same problem please help

Just because a drive is sata, it doesn't mean the filesystem isn't FAT32

FAT32 has a per-file limit of 4GiB exactly. The file you're trying to download is most likely larger than that.
