Killazys Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 It says that the folder under C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\uTorrent is a Trojan. All I have in there are the actual .torrent files that I downloaded. What could be the problem? Thanks.
Switeck Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 You have hostile software on your computer claiming legitimate applications are trojans.
jewelisheaven Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 ... A BHO (browser helper object) should not not NOT have access to anything outside of the browser. It may just be the cynic in me, but ... anything which requests it.. is asking to be exploited :/I'm sorry but I would recommend removing the toolbar entirely.
DreadWingKnight Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 I would personally be more likely to suspect that the Yahoo toolbar is the trojan.
Killazys Posted December 22, 2007 Author Report Posted December 22, 2007 Heh Y! Toolbar has a nifty little program called CA Anti-Spy. It scans your computer for tracking cookies, dialers and the like in a few seconds. It's trustworthy, trust me, although CA (the AV program) isn't that good...
DreadWingKnight Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 Yahoo toolbar has been known to let other spyware and trojans in in the past.Additionally, it claiming uTorrent is a trojan automatically makes it not trustworthy because it just hit a false positive.
TheBear Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 My experiences with Yahoo Toolbar resulted in me adding it to the list of "apps" that users where I work will be fired if they install it on any of the agencies systems.Case closed in my books.Your mileage may vary.
