Utorrent wont do anything...

I download and install it, but when i open the program nothing happens, even when i restart the computer before opening. i can type into the u torrent search, but when i press enter or click search nothing happens at all, no browser opens, no timer appears, nothing. i have tried turning off my firewall (which is just windows firewall) and this doesnt help, and i have also checked that utorrent isnt blocked by the firewall, but its listed in exceptions. Any ideas what else the problem might be?

I had utorrent on my computer a while back working perfectly but then i took it off for some reason unknown even to me. could this be something to do with it?

Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Set Program Access and Defaults > Custom > Choose a default Web browser:

Select your browser, and make sure "Enable access to this program" is checked.
