hivebox
I am having problems with very large (10 GB+) torrents perpetually being in disk overload, using utorrent 1.6.1.I have tried everything I can thing of to resolve this with no success. The underlying problem, as far as I can tell, is that utorrent picks pieces to download based on a random or least-available algorithm, and so on very large torrents this results in insane amounts of seeking.I would greatly appreciate any advice on workarounds for this issue. Firon
First, upgrade to ut 1.7.5. Second, try turning on diskio.sparse_files
jewelisheaven
sparse_files is default to ON in stable It only works on NTFS volumes. Here's another thing to reduce the impact of fast downloading, Ctrl-P -> Advanced -> Disk Cache turn off "Write out finished pieces immediately"
