jewelisheaven
Reported elsewhere. Are you running any indexers (search or media, aka Google Desktop, MSN, iTunes, Windows Media player).. If so, you may have to add uTorrent's download directory to the exceptions list. Here's a way to find out if this is indeed the case: Under the uT Preferences Ctrl-P -> Downloads there is the option to "append !ut to partial files"... if enabling this and seeing your download folder with an extension unrecognized by any other programs solves your issue, you can be assured this is the case and must either stop using the program while uT is running or find a way to keep it from scanning the directory, OR bug the developers to scan their files in read-only mode.
