Utorent connecting to Bittorrent INC

I have all of the statistics reporting features turned off on utorrent.

Why is that?

Uhm, µtorrent doesn't connect to bittorrent.com

It connects to utorrent.com for updating features and routes through it for search features (which you can turn off)...

How do you know "tries to connect to Bittorrent Inc"?

It doesn't connect to bittorrent.com Run Process Explorer click on ut's process, go to strings tab, click on memory.. there isn't a bittorrent.com URL anywhere. There are several to utorrent.com and variants as stated above due to auto-update and search mechanisms.

BitTorrent owns several IPs. BitTorrent owns uTorrent. BitTorrent has a strong privacy policy and I'm not worried about them at all.

To seed DHT is another reason it might be communicating up at startup.

To connect to the DHT network, you have to connect to a known node on the network.

To get a list of known nodes on the DHT network, µTorrent connects to an ip in the BitTorrent ip space.

Disable DHT and that shouldn't happen.

I'm sorry about before I didn't notice you guys switched to router.bittorrent.com from router.utorrent.com for DHT.
