stormxiii Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 Hello .I'm having the problem of a low downloading speed , while my upload speed is at maximum. For example; I use a torrent and I'm uploading at 25kbytes or more, and my download speed does not improve more than 25 kbytes. Upload/download limits are 0 .My ADSL connection is 16mbps.Windows XP SP2 Media Center Edition, 1.7.5. utorrent edition. I have done port forwarding and of course a static IP setting to stabilize it.Can u help me =( pleasethank youPS:I don't use a firewall, just my router. The problem is not the seeds, I have tried with some more popular torrents that have many seeds and the maximum download speed is 25kbytes per second , when my maximum possible download rate from e.g. nvidia is 1200kbytes per second.
DreadWingKnight Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 What do torrents from http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/ give you? (specifically 2.3.1 windows english)
stormxiii Posted December 27, 2007 Author Report Posted December 27, 2007 500kbytes + how is that possible !So is it about the seeds then ?
DreadWingKnight Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 It's more about the conditions of the swarm than the seeds. In fact, it's possible to get better speeds on a 0-seed torrent than you get on 5k seed torrents.
stormxiii Posted December 27, 2007 Author Report Posted December 27, 2007 oh is that so ? What do I know..Thanks for answering.
dubhead Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 Just thought I'd tag onto this thread because it's very similar to my problem, thing is I don't know what I'm supposed to do on the link you provided..thanks
ajones81 Posted January 1, 2008 Report Posted January 1, 2008 Select the version (2.3.1), your platform and language. If javaScript is enabled in your browser, the torrent will pop up. Open it in uTorrent and download away, then report back here.
