jimbo77
hi,basically i have a direct internet connection through cable on my main pc (no router involved) which is connectable and working fine, the net connection is shared and theres another a secondary pc on my local network (connected directly to the main pc with shared internet, through crossover cable). the problem is that on my secondary pc im not connectable and cant really figure out why.i used to be connectable on both pcs before i reinstalled win, but now that i upgraded to vista on the secondary pc and had to set the internet connection all over again it seems that something is preventing me from being connectable on that pc and i cant figure out what it is. firewalls are disabled on both pcs, but the problem still persists.any ideas on what might be preventing my secondary pc from being connectable? it might be my utorrent settings (i might have changed some settings from the last install) or maybe something else. any help would be much appreciated. jewelisheaven
I'm pretty sure ICS comes with a firewall? And yea, being Vista upgrading has probably caused some too. I would recommend reading through Ultima's How-To and making sure you have changed relevant settings for Vista first. Afterwards I would re-think your drop-down settings ... or if you manually configure them under the Speed Guide (Ctrl-G) if you plan on downloading from both computers simultaneously. If nothing from that can help as stated in the bottom you can provide a HiJackThis log for non-obvious incompatibilities or other weirdness... :/ That's all I've got. ajones81
Meh. However much MS might say so, till date I've never found setting up networking between diferent versions of Windows trouble-free. If Windows can't even play nice with its own kith and kin, what's it good for anyway? :/ (Rhetorical question, BTW. )
