Possible to change the unit to kb/s?

As topic says, it's very confusing and none the less annoying to have to calculate from bits to bytes every time you have to read a speed or set speed caps.

I don't see an obvious reason to strictly hard code uTorrent to show speeds in bytes instead of bits.

So did i miss anything, as i didn't notice other posts asking the same question?

I mean bits are more or less the most commonly used unit these days in speed calculation, so it would be rather useful with at least an option to change the unit.

Thanks in advance!

Firon:

Alright, well i prefer bits as i can compare it to my max internet speed.

Also, most of the download manager's i've been using, Firefox, IE, in general, i believe that kb/s is more commonly used.

Anyway, would such a function be possible to implement?, should be quite a simple change. Could of course always wait for uTorrent to be open source and do it myself.

- How big is the chance that such an option would be implemented in case?

- Should i suggest the feature in the feature request forum?

Should i suggest the feature in the feature request forum?

Umm, like this or this perhaps? ;)

:o The request goes back at least two years if not more, and somehow people seem to have managed so far. :)

Seriously though, I wouldn't mind a drop-down box with units myself, but guess from the history this request like many others is just not high up on the devs' to-do list. :|

If you cant be bothered to work it out, it doesnt take long to type into google search anyway.

True, however i don't really think you see the point.

Because when you at a glance check your current downloading speed/uploading speed, and are used to bits/s, then it does bother me quite a lot that i have to calculate and "think" to just quickly scan my torrent "wealthiness".
