Hello ,

I recnetly downloaded and installed UuTorrent and I have been recentlky using Bitlord. Bitlord has worked for me with no problems but I hear Utorrent was supposed to be faster.

I tweaked my dsl setting as well for this program. I recieve I orange traingle in the bottom of the statuts bar saying that there are no incoming connections and Utorrent may not be configured propoerly.

When I click on the port forward I get an error saying that this port isnot open on the IP address (address from my ISP Sympatico DSL)

My doownlad speed is 3079 kb/s and upload is 618kb/s I have the up to "4mb" they call it. I have a Linksys wrt54g wireless router and have setup port forwading in it of the port listed in utiorrent and unchecked the block wan request box as well.

I downloaded Utorrent because I wanted a faster torrnet downloader?

Anyone have any ideas why i have that trinagle in the botom of my screen?

Thanks

Could you give me a quick how to on how to do that? Do I just set it to the ip address that my router assigned?

I assigned my PC an ip address of 192.168.1.101 and sudnet of 255.255.255.0 and a dafult gateway of 192.168.1.1 and then I lost the internet.

So I switched the settings back to obtain IP Address auto and I go internet back.. obvioulsy im missing something here.

Any ideas?

Alright I followed the guide you linked me to and set it all up as required. My static IP Address is now 192.168.1.136 and I can now surf the net with my static ip as well. I went into the router an changed the IP address on the port forwarding as well. And when I go to check port forwarding option (pops up when I click on the yellow triangle in the status bar) I get this error message when trying to scan for my port:

Welcome to the µTorrent Port Checker.

A test will be performed on your computer to check if the specified port is opened.

Checking port 43718 on 69.159.188.130...

Error! Port 43718 does not appear to be open.

Please see www.portforward.com for more information about how to map a port.

Please make absolutely sure that PeerGuardian2 or Protowall is allowing utorrent.com (72.20.34.145) in either of those programs. Those of you using ipfilter.dat should make sure the list does not include the website's IP. After making sure of this, re-run this test by refreshing the page (F5).

69.159.188.130 is the IP Address of my DSL modem not my computer... any more ides or did i miss something?>

Thanks very much for you help so far

Alright I changed that as well already. Here is the seetings in my router:

Port Range

Application Start End Protocol IP Address Enable

Utorrent 43718 43718 BOTH 192.168.1.36 Yes

And here is the setetings of my pc

Address Type Manually Configured

IP Address 192.168.1.36

Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway 192.168.1.1

And im still getting that same error message about port not being opened.

Why is it trying to open it on the IP address of my dsl modem? Is that correct?

Thanks again

Wow, I tried that file and it was downloading at 520 kb/s ... Yet I am trying to download a 700mb video and its only at 20 - 30 kb.s at the most...

Also I still have the yellow traingle in the status bar and it says :

No Incomming connections

Unless the icon turns green, it could indicate a problem with

your network configuration.

I click on the box and it brings me to the Speed Guide. If I click on the test if port is forwarded properly I get this message still:

Welcome to the µTorrent Port Checker.

A test will be performed on your computer to check if the specified port is opened.

Checking port 43719 on 69.159.188.130...

Is it really that big of deal as I was donwloading at 500 kb/s which I never had with Bitlord before.... Let me know your opinion Thanks
