Help please.My computer gets booted offline when I D/L

Lately , just out of the blue I will get booted offline when I am downloading (and sometimes uploading). The only fix is to unplug my cable motum and plug it back in again. I have tried to lower my d/l and u/l rates. That does not seem to work. I use utorrent 95% on the dreamingtree.org.
