alexiss Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Hello - I just downloaded utorrent 1.7.5 and went to piratebay.org to download some software. The items I tried to download all showed up in the downloading window in utorrent. However, no progress was made with the downloads. I am unable to access Firefox, I get the following error when I try to launch firefox.Unable to connectFirefox can't establish a connection to the server at search.utorrent.com. * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.I'm not sure what to do from this point. I've updated my firewall but that didn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!Alexis
DreadWingKnight Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Do you have peerguardian installed?
DreadWingKnight Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 It's a program that gets in the way of a LOT of things to do with uTorrent.
alexiss Posted January 2, 2008 Author Report Posted January 2, 2008 No, I dont have it. Do you think me not being able to connect to firefox has something to do with me not being able to download?
ajones81 Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Re. your net connectivity issues, go through this thread - http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992#p258231Re. uTorrent itself - Which firewall do you have? Any other security software installed (antivirus, anti-spyware etc.)? Are they all letting uTorrent through? Are your ports forwarded properly (Ctrl+G -> Test)? What tracker messages do you see on the torrents? Try the OpenOffice torrent from here (http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/) and tell us the results.
