Hydrolex Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 Hi peopleI'm a new member in here. I followed everything to open my ports but it doesn't work.Utorrent port checker says your Ip **** is not open.I have a Belkin router.I tried everything and I'm pretty sure I did everything correctly. My upload speed is 133k which I choosed 128k for speed guid. Thanks if you help me
jewelisheaven Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 OK, can you say specifically which steps from Ultima's amazing and awesomely descriptive Troubleshooting How-To you followed? Also are you sure you followed the http://utorrent.com/setup_guide.php completely?
Hydrolex Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 These are all I did1- Open Utorrent2- Download something3- Speed guid and set the speed ( I choosed 128k )4- Uncheck somestuff plus choose a port (6500)5- disable firewall6- go to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to make a static IP7- put this Ip address 192.168.2.1378- put subnet = 255.255.255.09- default getaway = 192.168.2.210- DNS = 192.168.2.111- go to Belkin setting12- Virtual Wireless or something like that13- add 6500 as the enable port and choose UCP14 - go to speedguide and test to see if the port is open15- Port is closedLOL
jewelisheaven Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 AHHA! OK, there are two protocols, TCP and UDP. TCP is for peer traffic. UDP is for DHT and other features. Are you sure the default gateway is different from your DNS server?
jewelisheaven Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Aww you have it backwards Thats why it says there's no connection. The IP address from ipconfig shows you are .2.2 AND your ROUTER is .2.136Try changing that IP address from 136 to 2, it should fix you right up
Hydrolex Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 I think you need help too lol http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Belkin/F5D9230-4v2/Utorrent.htmLook at those pictures
jewelisheaven Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 Well bollocks indeed. If the Belkin is on .1, then what the frell is on 136? Why would it be listed as your default gateway and your DHCP server if it isn't your router?
Hydrolex Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 OMG dude I don't understand what is DHCP and some of your words. I'm a noob that need to increase speed. that's all I want and damn I'm not an expert
jewelisheaven Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 OK in your picture you showed, the top is your ipconfig output right? And the bottom is the Belkin router setup. Are you saying you go to 192.168.2.1 to access your belkin configuration? If so, try accessing 192.168.2.136 via your browser to see if you can connect to it.The information I was saying comes directly from the ipconfig output. You see that the default gateway (what all your traffic goes through). I'm not sure at all why Belkin would redirect you to another LAN IP.According to your cmd.exe output (ipconfig /all) you are currently on LAN IP 192.168.2.2 and connecting to 192.168.2.136. In your router settings for your uTorrent rule change the destination IP from 192.168.2.136 to 192.168.2.2 and see if that clears up your problem.By the way DHCP is an "automatic" way for computers to set themselves up from correctly enabled routers or servers or other hardware. It just means "i'm going to get a LAN IP to get on the network without any input from you".
Hydrolex Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 Ok I changed 136 to 2 and it still doesnt work. now what ?
jewelisheaven Posted January 4, 2008 Report Posted January 4, 2008 OK by doesn't work do you still see the red ! network status icon, or are your downloads still going @ ~ 50 KiBps. In your picture of the uT Speed tab I notice you're not showing the upload portion. Has that increased at all? It is also possible the port you chose is in-use on your computer. When you go to the Logger tab do you see any messages? Also if you re-start uT, how long does it take for the network status icon to go red? In step #5 above you said you disabled firewall? Which firewall was it? uT has an option to auto-link into the Windows Firewall. It is also possible disabling the firewall doesn't deactivate a block-all-with-exceptions rules Additionally other security programs may have added "features" including a mini-firewall. I would recommend reading through Ultima's How-To for Troubleshooting and pasting the requested logfiles in the thread for further perusal :/ It seems there is a software incompatibility.
Hydrolex Posted January 4, 2008 Author Report Posted January 4, 2008 ok my friend ! just tell me this one. How can I open my port without a router. I mean I disconnected my router and now I can imagine I have no router because I only use my router when I play PS3. Now what should I do ?
