stevec5000
Since I don't have access to the router on wi-fi networks to open or forward the ports I always get a yellow triangle with the warning saying No Incoming Connections and speeds are really slow. Has anyone found a way around this problem?
jewelisheaven
If you cannot access the router yourself UPnP or NAT-PMP is an option. IMNSHO though if you are using public wifi you're not being very polite slurping up all the bandwidth for your personal torrenting enjoyment. Switeck
If UPnP doesn't auto-forward your port, then you are permanently firewalled.Same is generally true for using the internet via cellphones and satellite connections...they only get a LAN ip, not a single internet ip dedicated to them. stevec5000
It looks like NAT-PMP might do what I want using Bonjour for Windows but it requires that port 5353 be opened on the remote router and I don't have access to open that port either!BTW, I'm not hogging free wifi I'm paying for it on Tengointernet, a service available at RV parks. I actually supply wifi from my house with FON.
jewelisheaven
:/ heh, I didn't know apple's PMP worked on non-apple hardware. I think, that you are stuck, and so should make sure you limit functions which don't provide additional bandwidth, and change limited settings to optimize the download/upload experience per slot per peer per torrent.
