utorrent port forwarding and comcast

You can get what ISP you like. Be sure if you have or plan to have multiple computers connected to your line that the comcast technician (if you get free install) makes sure to setup your line on the router (it saves having to reconfigure your line later remotely to work on the router's MAC address). If the modem they provide you has a firewall in it, you may want to set either it up or the router up in "bridge mode" so you don't have significant troubles forwarding ports.

A simple search for Comcast on this forum or Google, Wikipedia etc. will tell you how it's almost universally reviled for messing with BitTorrent users and using all sorts of (underhand) tactics to disrupt file sharing. If you plan to torrent using Comcast, think carefully, ask around and then decide.

Also, check out this link for what's possibly the first case filed against an ISP (guess who?) for blocking BitTorrent.
