DreadWingKnight Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 what sort of dat file?partfile.dat?
jewelisheaven Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 When you are not downloading all of the file in the torrent at once uT adds the partfile as a way to keep you from continually asking for the data at the bounds of the pieces for the files you DO WANT.

aquax Posted January 8, 2008 Author Report Posted January 8, 2008 thanks everyone. so there is no way to let this file automatically go away?
jewelisheaven Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 Stop partially downloading torrents maybe? It only shows up when you set ANY of the files in a multi-file torrent to "do not download".You can also change the Ctrl-P -> Advanced settingdiskio.use_partfile: This option is used to store data that is downloaded from files that you told µTorrent to skip. This is necessary to prevent the file from being allocated. It stores the parts of the skipped files that come with a piece, since µTorrent must download and save the entire piece, and each piece can contain data from multiple files. The partfile is removed when you remove the torrent job from the torrent job list.Have you become acquainted with Ultima's µManual?
Ultima Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 If disabled, you'll end up getting files you skipped getting allocated (again, a file you don't want in the directory). It's a tradeoff -- one "annoyance" for another.
