shawf
I did not realize where to post, i hope this is the correct place. As I am posting torrents, I love to watch upload progress while seeding. But I wondered that while I am the only seeder, I want to see which parts are uploaded to swarm and which parts are waiting. So in availability graph, why add me as blue? It is very hard to distunguish between light blues. Instead of red, or green or another color, when i am the only owner of that piece. Is this possible? Ultima
The availability behaves the way it des because it shows piece distribution/concentration. If there is at least one instance of a piece in the swarm, then it'll be colored blue, regardless of whether you're a seeder or not. Red means there is no copy of that piece in the swarm, so it would make no sense for any piece to be red if you're the seeder. Is it possible? If the devs wanted to change it, sure, but I don't see it happening. The availability bar isn't there for a super-high-detailed view of the swarm distribution; it's for a general glance. If it were for details, then it'd be more like some kind of map not unlike how the old Windows disk defragmenter used to look, or how FlashGet's progress thing looks. jewelisheaven
How does or IS Ctrl-P -> General -> Show graphical progress bar supposed to affect the availability bars?
Ultima
It doesn't. The option affects only the display of the progress bar in the torrent jobs list.
jewelisheaven
That would explain it, that was the only "graph" I didn't look at while toggling the feature on and off. Thanks Ultima.Shawf: I don't think your feature will be implemented as some sort of highlight in any of the graphs due to the overhead it creates, especially on high-speed connections. Hmm I swear there is already a column under the Peers tab which essentially tells you what you are wanting to know, but Queued only shows me 16387 for anyone i'm currently uploading to I think I remember it changing when I was downloading. As far as the graphs themselves being "quick glance", definitely the one in the main torrent pane, for sure. I have my files bars and pieces bars currently setup to dominate (~65% of my 1280x screen) the column size distribution in my setup so it's a bit more informative about what i'm downloading when I'm downloading. Though with pieces of 4 MiB I still have a bit of trouble telling the difference between multiple blocks next-to eachother (1/256 is a bit harder to see than 1/64th (for 1 MiB)). shawf
Thanks for your interest.I just asked if it is possible. I am the initial source of torrent so i wanted to see how much is uploaded to torrent network and watch progress. Availability number does my job anyway. Watching this progress visually was a cosmetic request. So it is not necessary really.I found that, utorrent provides enough information for downloading, not seeding. jewelisheaven
Sure thing, It's a nice request but I don't think it will be implemented for the cost vs reward factor... There is uhm, hmm, persistent piece-setting in 1.8 which was requested by someone but I'm not sure how/if you can see it. It keeps track of the last piece you sent out. The problem would be it's not that easy to keep track of individual pieces being sent out or received when you're talking about a column (for ex. if it's to be implemented in the main torrent pane) which should function the same whether you're on 10 KiBps up --> 100 Mbit synchronous connection.
