ciper
Issue Resolved thanksThanks for taking the time to help. I just finished trying all of the steps listed in the sticky "IF YOU HAVE SPEED ISSUES READ HERE FIRST" thread but so far haven't had any luck.My issue is that the download speed is no where near the limit of my connection speed and most of the time my upload speed is nearly three times greater.The guide said to list my specifications when asking for help so -My network status light is greenPort checker says "OK! Port xxxxx is open and accepting connections."Upload limit is 80% of the speed test resultnet.max_halfopen is set to 8Windows XP SP3, 2ghz Core 2 Duo (no 64 bit extensions), intel 945 chipset with 1gb ramNo security software active (does adaware count?)Router is a ProCurve 7102dlHere is the output of tasklistsmss.exe 488 Console 0 400 Kcsrss.exe 572 Console 0 4,600 Kwinlogon.exe 600 Console 0 5,764 Kservices.exe 644 Console 0 3,768 Klsass.exe 656 Console 0 8,116 Kati2evxx.exe 824 Console 0 3,200 Ksvchost.exe 840 Console 0 5,384 Ksvchost.exe 892 Console 0 4,984 Ksvchost.exe 1000 Console 0 21,476 Kbtwdins.exe 1024 Console 0 2,440 Ksvchost.exe 1084 Console 0 3,472 Ksvchost.exe 1192 Console 0 4,976 Kaawservice.exe 1232 Console 0 1,324 Kati2evxx.exe 1296 Console 0 4,428 Kspoolsv.exe 1440 Console 0 8,472 Kmsdtc.exe 1632 Console 0 5,236 KACLIENT.EXE 1700 Console 0 1,832 KAeXNSAgent.exe 1752 Console 0 3,700 Kagrsmsvc.exe 1772 Console 0 1,408 KmDNSResponder.exe 1784 Console 0 2,948 KdsNcService.exe 1820 Console 0 2,752 KIAANTmon.exe 1928 Console 0 4,392 KiviRegMgr.exe 1964 Console 0 2,296 Koodag.exe 2008 Console 0 5,216 Ksvchost.exe 204 Console 0 2,944 Khpqwmiex.exe 380 Console 0 4,016 Kmqsvc.exe 456 Console 0 8,164 Kmqtgsvc.exe 1732 Console 0 3,992 Kexplorer.exe 2064 Console 0 27,408 Kalg.exe 2504 Console 0 3,632 KAGRSMMSG.exe 2724 Console 0 2,416 KSynTPEnh.exe 2744 Console 0 5,012 KQLBCTRL.exe 2780 Console 0 5,300 KScheduler.exe 2948 Console 0 9,276 KAClntUsr.EXE 2960 Console 0 3,132 Ksmax4pnp.exe 3104 Console 0 4,228 KIAAnotif.exe 3160 Console 0 4,416 Kjusched.exe 3264 Console 0 2,256 Kctfmon.exe 3340 Console 0 3,848 KISUSPM.exe 3368 Console 0 3,780 KBTTray.exe 3500 Console 0 6,228 Kwmiprvse.exe 3520 Console 0 5,436 KBTStackServer.exe 3792 Console 0 8,276 Kfirefox.exe 252 Console 0 82,552 KuTorrent.exe 2684 Console 0 38,488 Knotepad.exe 4032 Console 0 3,668 Kcmd.exe 3144 Console 0 2,752 Ktasklist.exe 2760 Console 0 4,324 Kwmiprvse.exe 3196 Console 0 5,772 K
jewelisheaven
Thank you for going through research before reporting What setting did you use for the Ctrl-G Speed Guide? Do you get at or near your advertised speeds when running a test torrent from http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/ ?When you notice yourself on a swarm to which you are giving a proportionally large amount of your upload to and yet receiving little in return, what kinds of flags are you seeing on the peers in the Peers tab? When you are uploading it will show "U", and when someone is letting you download from them it will be "D"... I regularly see "IHEX UD" If you see alot of "K" or "S" then there still is some incompatibility with your settings and your connection. That's a nifty output from tasklist but it doesn't give a tree view like Process Explorer does. I don't recognize the non windows related apps so forgive me for asking if you are running any "security software" or a bandwidth limiter or other firewall applications which may be interfering with your connection. Generally speaking downloads are not constant, but upload should be. If you switch to the Speed tab and scale back to 5 or 30 seconds you will see whether or not you are uploading consistently (you will see a straight horizontal line at or near your maximum set upload)... which means you are getting all you can from the peers which you are connected to. ciper
For the speed guide setting I originally chose the setting closest to my speed then went in and manually reduced the maximum upload rate to 80% of the true reported speed.I forgot to mention that I did a test download of open office. I don't think it was fast enough to stress my connection so I deleted the copy of open office and started the torrent again plus a combination of 3 very popular torrents (I am Legend, 3 10 to Yuma and Superbad) for faster results which still showed the large upload/slow download speed. The overwhelming majority of peers are some combination of ud ihxe with maybe three s and zero kThere is no security software or firewall. The download speed is consistent for the most part. It usually runs at high speed for 30 seconds or longer without much change. Sometimes I see dips in speed but I attribute most of those to other network activity. The fastest sustained upload I have ever seen is only about 60% of my maximum upload capacity (though it usually runs much lower).Process PID CPU Description Company NameSystem Idle Process 0 96.85 Interrupts n/a 0.78 Hardware Interrupts DPCs n/a 0.78 Deferred Procedure Calls System 4 smss.exe 488 Windows NT Session Manager Microsoft Corporation csrss.exe 572 Client Server Runtime Process Microsoft Corporation winlogon.exe 600 Windows NT Logon Application Microsoft Corporation services.exe 644 Services and Controller app Microsoft Corporation ati2evxx.exe 824 ATI External Event Utility EXE Module ATI Technologies Inc. svchost.exe 840 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation wmiprvse.exe 3520 WMI Microsoft Corporation BTStackServer.exe 3792 Bluetooth Stack COM Server Broadcom Corporation. svchost.exe 892 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation svchost.exe 1000 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation btwdins.exe 1024 Bluetooth Support Server Broadcom Corporation. svchost.exe 1084 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation svchost.exe 1192 Generic Host Process for Win32 Services Microsoft Corporation aawservice.exe 1232 Ad-Aware 2007 Service Lavasoft AB spoolsv.exe 1440 Spooler SubSystem App Microsoft Corporation msdtc.exe 1632 MS DTC console program Microsoft Corporation ACLIENT.EXE 1700 aclient Altiris, Inc.
