teresachaves
I keep getting this message for every file I try to download (and I only got uTorrent yesterday!). Then I begin the donwload again and it works for some time, until I get the error message again! I tried te FAQ, but none of the info there helped. Could anyone please try to give me a hand here? Thanks!

hittmaneagles
I had same issue. I opened my task manager clicked the process tab. Then made the widow bigger so i could see all them at one time and watched under the cpu catagory to see what else was running.all my process were at 0 except google was flucuating On mine google desktop was the problem. I clicked on it and clicked end process. I had two of them or it open again because I checked back in a few minutes and was still there. That time I clicked on the google desktop icon in the lower right hand corner and exited it. It did'nt want me to but I did anyway. Hope this helps. I'm new also. Ultima
While Google Desktop might be the culprit in your case, checking for CPU usage won't necessarily help, as other applications/processes might behave in that way without being the problem. It should simply be realized that applications that index files often cause these types of problems.
jewelisheaven
Google Desktop has a service, afaik which is why you had to STOP it from the tray In addition to Ultima's explanation, a common "easy" procedure to find out if it's the indexer is to "enable !ut on partial downloads", since that extension is foreign to most/all other programs if the problems stop whatever indexer is running is the culprit. . .You'd think indexers would learn.. OPENING FILES YOU WANT TO READ IN WRITE MODE IS SLOPPY CODING!
Switeck
Or locking files for exclusive use while indexing...to insure something else doesn't "tamper" with them!
