muay Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 hello went round a friends house to set utorrent up. was fine when i left but then the next day they tryed to download something and it does nothing no upload no down load. the download has loads of seeds and peers but none are giving out anything its like this on all torrents. they are with sky and have a netgear modem. anyone no why.
jewelisheaven Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 Are you sure you set it up correctly through Ctrl-G ? Are you sure they wouldn't have downloaded Windows Update patches which reset tcpip.sys (Did you modify net.max_halfopen under Advanced Preferences)? Other information is needed, like error messages if any when running either of the test torrents from the How-To please
muay Posted January 14, 2008 Author Report Posted January 14, 2008 one that i did notice is that them 2 little moniters in the icon bar in bottom right are not there could it be anything todo with this. thanks.
ajones81 Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 Those "2 little moniters in the icon bar in bottom right" are shown/hidden according to your preferences, so not seeing them doesn't necessarily mean something's wrong. What about port forwarding (Ctrl+G), tracker error messages etc. as jewel asked above? Please ensure you respond to queries with relevant info. rather than making us run around in order to extract it from you.
jewelisheaven Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 I think muay is trying, if you look you do see the thread already made about his specific problems Muay also remember not all computers run the same background information. . .I know it's only natural to immediately go to what solved YOUR problem on another computer. But that's why a common, thorough approach to problem solving like Ultima's How-To is frequently referenced on the forum to get people to start at one end of a problem and go to the other
