Aquai Posted January 13, 2008 Report Share Posted January 13, 2008 Hi all, I'm connecting to the net through a proxy server, with login. I've entered all the information into uTorrent and it's kind of working. Torrents connect but have really slow downloads - talking 0.5kb/s. If i change the listening port the speed will shortly bump up to around 5kb/s then drop again, no matter what port i go through (i've even looked at all the open ports)... Edit: Also just noticed it says "DHT Waiting to log in" and then that dissapears... I should probably mention i do have a fair amount of experience with torrents from the past and not seen anything like this before Any suggestions? Switeck Posted January 14, 2008 Report Share Posted January 14, 2008 Disable DHT, it is often unable to penetrate proxy servers...and other than on marginal torrents that lack seeds is likewise of marginal value.Have you tried Ultima's Troubleshooting Guide?:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992...It lists additional information we'll need if nothing helped. Mac-the-Knife Posted January 14, 2008 Report Share Posted January 14, 2008 Would suggest you look to see if you have installed Microsoft update KB941644, and if you have, uninstall it. Microsoft put it on as a critical update, but it is only an update for malicious software removal tool which you shouldn't need if you have a decent anti-virus installed.
