zboogle Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 I've tried using this torrent client few times and it's always the same.I get the torrent error balloon which says can't download file...access is denied. Why is that?I've formated my windows few times(not just because of that) and tried to download torrent files again with utorrent and it's the same message always.Heeeeelp
ajones81 Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 Post a HijackThis log please.P.S. Roxio Media Indexer, Nero Scout, Google/MSN Desktop Search. Those are all possibilities for what's locking your files. Basically, look for any indexer, specifically for media files or otherwise.

ajones81 Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 If it's not one of these two,O23 - Service: O&O Defrag - O&O Software GmbH - C:\WINDOWS\system32\oodag.exeO23 - Service: TuneUp Drive Defrag Service (TuneUp.Defrag) - TuneUp Software GmbH - C:\WINDOWS\System32\TuneUpDefragService.exethen it might be either Spyware Doctor or Avast. I think those two are most likely though, so try disabling the services. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling them one by one and check. Never could understand why one needs all these services running to defrag the HDD though. As far as I'm concerned, manually performing a defrag off and on is more than enough. Why strain the HDD unnecessarily?
jewelisheaven Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 My personal tactic is to use AutoIT and task scheduler linked to batch files for performing "routine" tasks... I think many people like to "set it and forget it".. damn Ronco infomercials
zboogle Posted January 15, 2008 Author Report Posted January 15, 2008 Look like I've solved the problem..Just did what ajones81 said. Tnx

Firon Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 CRC error is a hard drive fault, caused by failing/bad sectors. You basically need a new hard drive. And no, a trojan can't cause it. It's a physical defect.
