DarthYodi Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 Hi all,After a while of seeding, all of my torrents turn to the red color and when I check them all of the trackers say (timeout). Then I try to update them manually but that times out as well. I don't know why this is because my DNS is working I can goto the tracker's webpage and if I restart it will work again, but I am not there to restart sometimes. Please advise on what the problem is and how to fix it.Thanks in advance,DY

DarthYodi Posted January 14, 2008 Author Report Posted January 14, 2008 Thanks for the reply, but I have vista and do not have the same updates as XP I don't think. Also the trackers work for a long time whereas the OP of that thread say they don't work at all anymore. It's very sporatic and only happens every so often. I am not sure as to what it is. My net.max_halfopen is at 8 (stock, never changed it)
jewelisheaven Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 If you have bt.scrape_stopped ENABLED and you notice your "Offline" messages happening every 30 or 60 minutes you can try turning that off. However the afforementioned updates were released for Vista as well since the problem was reported with the protocol stack (which has been standardized with improvements since XP).
DarthYodi Posted January 14, 2008 Author Report Posted January 14, 2008 Oh ok, I will check if I got those updates, but I don't update windows too often because I hate that there is always like 500 updates, but I'll make sure.EDIT: Nope, I did not download and install those updates. Also, my bt.scrape_stopped is set on false, which hasn't been changed.
jewelisheaven Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 Then next I would recommend working through Ultima's How-To and verifying whether or not your security software on your computer is interfering with correct internet operations :/ If you need advice you can paste the logfiles requested for further perusal by anyone passing by in the forum
