sinnic Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 Whenever I start uTorrent and it downloads at a good speed (more than 200 kB/s), my wireless connection dies. Windows XP says it is still connected, but I'm unable to receive any data. I can't go onto any websites (says "Looking for" in Firefox), and all my torrents have no activity. I have to disconnect from the wireless router, and then reconnect right after to get the internet back.I have a D-Link DIR-615 as my router, and a D-Link WUA-1340 as my wireless transmitter on my computer.Any suggestions?
jewelisheaven Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 More than 50 concurrent connections is just asking for trouble. Wireless is less reliable than ethernet.
sinnic Posted January 19, 2008 Author Report Posted January 19, 2008 So I should change Preferences > BitTorrent > "Global maximum number of connections" to 50? It's set to 185 currently.
jewelisheaven Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 Yes definitely. Also you will probably want to scale all of your settings down. Are you setup for XX/YOUR_UPLOAD under Ctrl-G?
