crazyhorse6 Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 hi,can anyone tell me if theres any kind of software or program i can download to get around my ISP "throttling" my internet service? because, ive forwarded my ports correctly, i have the green checkmark at the bottom of the screen, read and followed the speed guide, and utorrent FAQ, even disabled my software firewall, but am still getting slow download rates. if theres any answers out there, theyd be greatly appreciated. thanks very much.
jewelisheaven Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 Not software, but you can try configuring your uT in "limited settings" to minimize your presence on the web. You can also try the 1.8 in the Announcements forum to see if that gets around your ISPs automated traffic shaping methods. It includes workarounds borne between collaboration between developers.
crazyhorse6 Posted January 19, 2008 Author Report Posted January 19, 2008 ok, thankyou, will look at the 1.8 in the announcements forum.. how do i find these "limited settings" to configure them? i just looked at the announcements forum, and honestly, NONE of that stuff makes sense to me, might as well be in a different language. would you be able to suggest anything? if not, ill try and do some research, but ill probably wind up right back here i really appreciate you guys trying to help guys like me who are totally helpless when it comes to this kind of stuff.thanks very much.
jewelisheaven Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 BAH! multi-tasking sucks. Sorry the 2nd post in Ultima's How-To lists the options you can disable to try and minimize your presence on the web :/
