tacotanker27
I was downloading a CD. It was pretty small, only about 200mb and I thought it would take less than a few hours with my internet, but its been over a day now and I think I've found the problem. The logger has picked up failed hash check after failed hash check. I had a list of probably 50 of them, and after each one I was banned from 2 or 3 peers, but it added up until I had absolutely no peers left. I reset my bans and it took off for a while, but 20 minutes later I check and the same thing. Is this just a bad file, or is it a problem on my end? Firon
Could be a poisoned or fake torrent.
jewelisheaven
If peers which you UNbanned keep sending you bad data, leave them on the auto-ban list or filter them with ipfilter http://utorrent.com/faq.php#What_is_ipfilter.dat.3F . If there are no more peers after that it is a fake torrent. Or torrent with spoofed/interdicted peers on a legitimate torrent, or a partially faked/corrupted torrent on legitimate content.
