Tsebels
I recently set up a static IP and port forwarding, but it's not working. I have port 50501 set up as my port for incoming connections and I have it forwarded, but my torrents still run at like 10 kps. When I use the utorrent port checking device it says the port is not forwarded. Are there any steps I might have missed? From what I can tell I have the same problem as this guy: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/488216.html
Ultima
What modem, router, and firewall are you using? What did you set your static IP to, and what is your router's DHCP range set to?
Tsebels
I use a linksys WRT5G and a Verizon modem (not sure who manufactures it). My static IP is 192.168.2.140. How do I check the DHCP range?
Ultima
By checking the router configuration. I believe by default, the WRT54G has its DHCP range set from 100-149, though you might want to check the configuration to make sure. Linksys routers won't forward ports to IPs within the DHCP range, so you definitely should set your static IP outside of it.
Tsebels
OK. I'll try that. Thanks very much.
