Stedalo
I've flipped through the sticky and the FAQ and will definitely return there to learn more, but I was hoping somebody could explain what is going on with a current download (or attempted download) or at least point me in a good direction. I wanted to ask about this case specifically, as I just downloaded UTorrent earlier today (for the second time and the basic settings have worked for me before), downloaded a 140mb file in a very short period of time this afternoon, and now I seem to be having problems with a download...The file is 590mb and is currently 65% complete. The first half went fairly fast (at about 50-60kb/s) with 1 seed, but for the last couple hours I only seem to be uploading at that speed (50-60kb/s) while my download speed hovers around .1kb/s. I've already uploaded over 1 gig over this file. Anyway, I may not be providing enough info but is there anything I can quickly do to correct this imbalance? I don't mind uploading, but this is too much. Do I have to completely adjust all of my settings or is something basic and obvious that I'm missing? I would like to avoid stopping the torrent and changing settings, if possible, as this is a fairly obscure file and I don't know if I'll see it again any time soon. torrero
If the other peers are all stuck at 65% too and Availability is 1.650, then its obvious that the only seed isnt uploading (or cant) fast enough. Thats the reason why you are only uploading, atm. Just pause the torrent for a while and resume later.
Stedalo
I am downloading but barely, around .1kb/s. Periodically it will go up to 10kb/s or so, but only for a few seconds and then quickly drop right back down to around .1kb/s
jewelisheaven
To test if torrero is right, go to the Peers tab... Are all peers at the same percentage? To verify if they aren't you can right click on the column header and enable "Relevance" which tells you how much more of the torrent they have than you do. Stedalo
It seems you guys are right. I am obviously new to this but this is of course quite clear now that I have been directed to look in the right place....At the moment there is only one other peer with just a little more downloaded than myself. Thank you torrero and jewelishheaven!
