Hi

I forward the port and the green light is on but the speed is slow.

so I made the port test and it said

Welcome to the µTorrent Port Checker.

A test will be performed on your computer to check if the specified port is opened.

Checking port 57905 on 87.101.244.7...

Error! Port 57905 does not appear to be open.

Please see www.portforward.com for more information about how to map a port.

Please make absolutely sure that PeerGuardian2 or Protowall is allowing utorrent.com (72.20.34.145) in either of those programs. Those of you using ipfilter.dat should make sure the list does not include the website's IP. After making sure of this, re-run this test by refreshing the page (F5).

so what is the problem

i use linksys and i forward it useing the site.

It may not be a hardware problem ... is your setup ISP -> modem -> linksys -> computers ? Are you running any software which may interfere with internet operations (security suite, internet monitor, bandwidth limiter, etc)? It is also possible your modem performs functions as a router. Try setting it to bridge mode.

Well, does it have multiple "down" ports on it? Or is it only ONE in port and ONE out port?... Also connecting to it via IP or hostname may show you "port forwarding" or "virtual server" functions, in which case verifying it DOES have routing functions. Regarding the software, my post covers many specific steps needed to systematically troubleshoot. Additionally, if you post a HiJackThis log like mentioned at the bottom of the How-To (linked below) it will show exactly what programs you're running since you're not quite positive :D Do you have other questions?

Yea, ok then your modem also has a router. In that case, try connecting your computer to your modem without the router in between. See if you can get the green? You should also return your IP to DHCP, instead of static to ease in the configuration process. In my post I talk about troubleshooting... what you want to pay attention to is "bridge mode"... See if you can put it in bridge mode. If not there's really no point or benefit for you to have your own router there :/ The problem with having two routers is you need to do DOUBLE NAT translation... which may be easy I don't know. But the fact remains you need to connect to the modem/router and configure that first, so poke at it a bit like you did for the linksys and report back, k?

seconed the configuration is automatic and the DHCP is enabled ( am using vista)

and I said before the light is green only the test said not that is i blieve why the download is slow

OH!!! Sorry about that :/ I was misunderstanding you. I thought you had ANOTHER device between you and your ISP...I either forgot or didn't remember you had SAID it was just ISP -> Linksys -> computer :/ sorry lol. ;)

K so your forwarding is good... is it a high number like 50000? It is possible the ISP may block certain ports. Have you tried setting up multiple ports, restarting your linksys between configurations? I'm pretty sure for any changes to take effect the Linksys models need to be reset. Indeed, even with forwarding rules set, if there's still something blocking it for you :/ It means you are limited to connecting to OTHERS who are themselves connectable.
