iurquhart Posted January 24, 2008 Report Share Posted January 24, 2008 I have the same problem and being a rank ameteur I cannot correct even by basic means. I tried to follow one set of instructions but still got the same error message. This seems to be a recent problem, I had no problems earlier. jewelisheaven Posted January 24, 2008 Report Share Posted January 24, 2008 za10, thank you for the list, but could you edit your post with a DLL list for utorrent.exe? The list is nice, but that gives more information about/if other processes are hooking into uT. On the other hand, it may simply be a misbehaved program like Nero Scout (nero's indexer) spidering your download folder, which won't work. Try disabling indexing for your download folder(s) or uninstall Nero Scout entirely. If your problem does not go away please advise. iurquhart, please provide a log like mentioned for za10 above. You don't give any indication of your system setup which makes it EXTREMELY difficult to troubleshoot :/ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
za10 Posted January 24, 2008 Author Report Share Posted January 24, 2008 i ended all processes i noticed i did not need such as viewpoint corp., nero, and apple products and the error went away. it may have been nero like jewelisheaven suggested, but i would suggest ending processes that you know you are not using, iurquhart. just make sure you know what your ending. Nobody Knows Posted January 24, 2008 Report Share Posted January 24, 2008 I'm having this problem and I just can't seem to get rid of it. I've read the FAQ and tried whatever bits I understood. I also tried ending some of the processes in my task manager but there were some that seemed really iffy to end so I didn't. It's also kinda weird because not all my downloading files get this error message and only some of them do. I just started using uT bout 3 days ago and this error is driving me nuts. Please help! The thing about HJT is it allows others to tell you what you're running even when you're not sure yourself Btw, that How-To includes an EXTENSIVE list for troubleshooting compiled by Ultima. jewelisheaven Posted January 26, 2008 Report Share Posted January 26, 2008 But of course For starters, could you try adding your download folder to the exceptions in Roxio Indexer and Google Desktop? If this is unavailable, you will have to uninstall / turn them off while using uT.Actually that looks like it for the standard culprits. See if turning off / disabling / uninstalling those gets rid of the problem. If not, further investigation is needed which you can provide below... steps you performed between now and then, and any specific questions you have. jewelisheaven Posted February 5, 2008 Report Share Posted February 5, 2008 You need to stop google desktop search or add an exception for your uT download folder. Do the same for Roxio, or COMPLETELY uninstall it. It starts on startup and has services which run in the background.
