Using a Proxy > A firewall router is limiting your network traffic!

Hey guys!

I need a little help, Im using a Proxy to download through uTorrent.

Using port 54321 through a socks5 connection.

"I get the error a firewall router is limiting your network traffic, You need to open up a port so others can connect to you"

My speeds are severely hampered my max. speed is only ~300kBps, I usually get 800kBps on HTTP through the same proxy.

What can I do?..

The Proxy server has no ports blocked. ALL of them are open.

Also, I am using a Very good Private tracker, with torrents seeded well.

The proxy is not on a Shared ISP. Its on a Dedicated 8mbps up/down line.

Although, it has 2 IP's, Ive bound the Proxy to one of them.

Im using CCProxy, as its on a Windows 2003 Server X64 Machine.

Which How-To are you referring to? This http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=32082 ?

Should I use HTTP or HTTPS? I thought Socks5 should be the best.

AFAIK only 1.8 allows you to pipe peer traffic THROUGH the proxy. I thought 1.7 only handled tracker communications. Before I was saying.. since you're getting less-than-expected speeds, TRY the openoffice torrent or slackware torrent... if they come in through your proxy @ 8 Mbit then the other swarms are just slow.

Link me?.. I cant seem to find a Beta 1.8 version anywhere.

Edit : Found it.. http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=31998

Edit 2 : Alright, so I got 1.8.. Started DL'ing.. Same problem.. Speeds just dont go above 200kBps.

Although, now it says "No Incoming Connections"

What should I do? :(

I use port 54321 and...

"OK! Port 54321 is open and accepting connections."

Edit 3 : Scrath that.. Now it says "Not Connectable" "A firewall router is limiting your network traffic, You need to open up a port so others can connect to you" .. again..

Bah.. I dont know what to do. :(.

Edit 4 :

Well, not my Download speeds do get to around 400kBps, but 0-1kBps Upload!! ..

I really need to fix this. Please help!

Understand, when you setup 1.8 you MUST use a different port (go through the Setup Guide again)... since you don't want to much with your 1.7 settings right? 1.8 goes faster due to workarounds for shaping profiles but you STILL need to set it up correctly to get the best speed/connections. If there's a part of setting it up (new Preferences) that confuses you please elaborate :D
