Ultima
µTorrent doesn't do that on its own, and it couldn't either, considering how such a feature has never been implemented (and all requests for such a feature have been rejected before). Some other application must be doing that. There isn't much we can do about it.
jewelisheaven
uTorrent is either on or it is off. You utilizing bandwidth from an open connection is not unexpected. Active torrents will continue when there is a network connection. If you don't want that, close uT between uses, or STOP all torrents when you don't want to torrent. Ultima
Evertime I start my modem utorrent starts upon connection made. ... I really do not need this program to run everytime i make connection to the internet.Seems to me like µTorrent is starting up every time a connection is made (not that it's starting connections/transfers again). jewelisheaven
Unless it's coming back from standby/hibernate it wouldn't make sense for it to go from STOPped to STARTed mode, right?
Ultima
Well, it wouldn't make sense in any case for µTorrent to automatically start stopped torrents.
jewelisheaven
I meant the program not torrents, but indeed

I know when I used to play with sub7, I could make it pm me in irc whenever "clients" connected. it helped when my friends still had dial up.
