budsmoker
Hello, how are you? Thanks for this great free light software.I'm hoping you can enlighten me about the following sentence:"To install the langpack, simply copy the file into directory with µTorrent executable."When I click this link: http://utorrent.com/download/langpacks/dl.php?build=4470I receive this message: Unable to load "utorrent-1.lng": invalid torrent fileSince the above process seems to happen automatically, how do I step in and "simply copy the file into directory" ?Could you please post step-by-step "dummy" instructions, showing how to override the automatic process above,so my brother can finally enjoy uTorrent in Japanese? Please excuse my ignorance, thanks for your kind help. jewelisheaven
How are you loading it? The link in your browser should NOT pop up uT. Save the lng file into uTorrent's directory (http://utorrent.com/faq.php#What_is_AppData.3F) If that doesn't work, please post back
budsmoker
OK, perhaps that means:1. Open Firefox2. Click Tools3. Click Options4. Click Browse5. Paste %AppData%\uTorrent6. Click OK7. Click OK8. Make sure uTorrent is closed9. Click http://utorrent.com/download/langpacks/dl.php?build=4470That results in the following message: Unable to load "utorrent-2.lng": invalid torrent fileTrying the above process again produces: Unable to load "utorrent-3.lng": invalid torrent fileTrying the above process again produces: Unable to load "utorrent-4.lng": invalid torrent fileSo, no success installing the langpack yet, but thanks anyway for trying Jewel.OK, how about Firon or DreadWingKnight, can you guys explain it to me simply? jewelisheaven
Uhm, did you put that %APPDATA%\uTorrent bit under the Downloads place in the Options? Something is opening the file as a torrent, but loading into uTorrent.exe?? Your settings are set to all load into uTorrent.exe for some reason maybe. Try right clicking the link and save-as. Save it as is into the utorrent settings directory, and then open up Preferences for uT and should see the drop-down list populated.
budsmoker
Thank you jewelsinheaven, you totally solved my problem! Now I realize you even gave the solution in your first reply. OK everybody, you see how ignorant "basic users" like me can be?To avoid this same problem in the future, the Language Download page should say"simply Right-Click, then Save Link As, to save this file in the uTorrent directory"(to find the correct folder location click Start, Run, then paste %AppData%\uTorrent )OK Jewel, you've been a Jewel, thanks for having solving that for me. :)
jewelisheaven
Hey, I was just as confused as you were so don't be praising me all that much, lol.So, now that it's loaded it works for your brother yes? Glad to help, if you really want to thank me just pay it forward (my new favourite wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pay_it_forward).
