jewelisheaven
First response: DON'T PANIC! (Mr. Adams we love you).Now...what problem are you having compared to before? Where are you seeing an error message or red icon? Are you running any security software? After the recent upgrade of 1.7.5 to 1.7.6 I tried to create a checklist to augment the How-To and standard re-checking resulting in my post. jewelisheaven
Right. How does it not work? What is the tracker status in the General tab? Does the torrent report peers in the General tab? Are you connecting to any peers? Are you running security software? You need to re-add rules for your security software if you made them for the old 1.7.5 and 1.7.6.

jewelisheaven
OK... so you're running security sofware? Could you answer my specific questions or post a HiJackThis log so I or others can see what you've got installed? (steps and information can be found in Ultima's awesome How-To guide for troubleshooting listed below)
ferdixx
Hi. I'm having pretty much the same problem so I thought I would post my HijackThis log as well. I hope you don't mind. I don't know what the hell is going on with my pc but my download speed has gotten significantly lower since utorrent updated(my windows updated right around the same time too). Maybe it's just a coincidence and I have a different problem. I hope this hijackthis log helps.Thanks.Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1Scan saved at 10:19:56 PM, on 2/1/2008Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600)MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6000.16574)Running processes:C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 2007\aawservice.exeC:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXEC:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exeC:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avguard.exeC:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avgnt.exeC:\Program Files\uTorrent\uTorrent.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exeC:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\wcescomm.exeC:\Program Files\PeerGuardian2\pg2.exeC:\PROGRA~1\MI3AA1~1\rapimgr.exeC:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\sched.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleMobileDeviceService.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\wscntfy.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exeC:\Program Files\HijackThis\HijackThis.exeR1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=69157R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=54896R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=54896R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=69157R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! jewelisheaven
WHAT THE?!?!? I sure as heck hope you know what this "logitech desktop messenger" is... that's one BUTTLOAD of extra protocol registrations. As far as running processes and services, nothing pops out except peerGuardian. blocking is useless My guess is PG is blocking your connection to trackers / peers to such a degree that you are really not downloading. Turn it off for starters, and look at http://utorrent.com/faq.php#What_is_ipfilter.dat.3F ... I'm not sure what kind of conversion you will have to do with your blocklist, but it's better to have uT not even ALLOW connections you don't want instead of having PG intercept traffic AFTER connections have been initiated. http://utorrent.com/faq.php#What_is_ipfilter.dat.3F
ferdixx
Hehe is it that bad? I have no idea what that "logitech desktop messenger" is. What do you recommend I do?As for PG, I will uninstall it, thanks for enlightening me about that.
jewelisheaven
As far as your initial problem, I'm thinking uninstalling PG will resolve it. As far as "logitech desktop messenger" check out Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel. :/
