jewelisheaven
o.O is that the extension id? -UT1750 and -UT1760 are the standard layout for the id, but what that prepend garbage is :?Edit: Checking my stuff, I see recently seeing yes fake uT 1.7.5 all resolving to the planetlab testbed on port 55005. Perhaps some new peer injection technique?
dottor
nobody from utorrent can confirm any of this and what afcid= is ?
jewelisheaven
Give them time, I'm sure someone will pop-in eventually. The dedicated staff are always overloaded.
Ultima
I'm not all that sure what's up with the funky ID, but I have tried sniffing the packets µTorrent sent out, and haven't seen anything like that in the packets.
jewelisheaven
Lol addendum to my original post. Every torrent I've run since then has had A PEER from planetlab ping me at least once an hour. I thought that testbed was for research purposes, not for for-profit organizations' usage. Greg Hazel
uTorrent does not print anything about afcid. A little googling shows this in some other (even IE) UserAgents in the wild:http://www.pulpchat.com/sitestats.phphttp://ncyoung.com/logLib/logView.php?reportType=cleanupMaybe some proxy is appending it by mistake? jewelisheaven
OOOH! Good, more research. Perhaps some gentle nudges to those specific users asking if they're trying connecting through a proxy are in order?
