jewelisheaven
Uhm it looks like you have ZoneAlarm or suite installed? It's possible you'll have to remove and re-add the rules in Windows Firewall for the new version. Other than that.. I'd ned more informatio as to what you've already tried from the How-To for starters :/
fabik05
Thanks for your answer. I don't have Zone Alarm and no firewall. I have uninstalled and re-installed twice...completely inactive...
DreadWingKnight
vsmon.exe 348 TrueVector Service Zone Labs Inc.This tells us you DO have zonealarm installed. It probably went stupid.
fabik05
I see! you are right! So what should I do with this?
Ultima
Either you configure it properly as per the forum sticky on firewall settings, or you uninstall it. I'd opt for the latter, considering how many problems ZA generally causes for users.
mrNickname
Is strange i've seem so many complaints about this new 1.7.7, since i'm ok with 1.7.6, if you struggled enough just roll back to 1.7.6, since 1.7.7 is critical for running web server only. Client wont need this shit.1.7.6 still downloadable at the site. Good Luck
DreadWingKnight
if you struggled enough just roll back to 1.7.6, since 1.7.7 is critical for running web server only. Client wont need this shit.wrong.From the changelog:- Fix: (potential) remote crash bug with extension protocol (affects all 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, and 1.8 builds released to date)
jewelisheaven
mrnickname if you can't stay on topic please don't post. Most of the problems with 1.7.7 are along the same lines of 1.7.6, overparanoid software or incorrectly configured software. I have yet to have a configuration problem on my uT client, and I've tested from build 110 onwards... so please, stifle if you can't stay ontopic. mrNickname
ok, explain more deeper with this "Fix: (potential) remote crash bug with extension protocol (affects all 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, and 1.8 builds released to date)"those are use for web server. btw no one is helping since the only option is to roll back because i dont give a shit about all those configurations i gunna ask any of you to do one by one. im not gunna be professional customer service here. DreadWingKnight
That specific bug is to do with the communication that happens between peers (the protocol used for peer exchange and client friendly name exchange).btw no one is helping since the only option is to roll backWhy do you think like this? torrenteer
I had just the same issue after updating on 1.7.6 and 1.7.7My solution has been to downgrade at 1.7.5Now it works !!!!!!!!(BIT TORRENT inc. doesn't bring us nothing good)
DreadWingKnight
We don't support you.Have fun with the remote crash exploit still sitting in your client.

Ultima
(BIT TORRENT inc. doesn't bring us nothing good)Double-negative translation: "BIT TORRENT inc." brings us something good.My solution has been to downgrade at 1.7.5I guess, indeed, "BIT TORRENT inc." has done something correctly. The fact of the matter is, most (if not all) of the problems people were having with the updates were due to misconfiguration and bad coincidences. But I understand; it's just easier to point fingers than to actually try and solve your own problems.
torrenteer
So sorry I had just the same issue after updating on 1.7.6 and 1.7.7My solution has been to downgrade at 1.7.5Now it works !!!!!!!!(BIT TORRENT inc. doesn't bring us nothing good)I am totally wrongThe problem still remains. So it is probably caused by my ISP.I like uTorrent above all for is NAT & encrypt features, in fact i am behind a NAT For some strange reasons torrents doesn't works anymore They currently work only if i switch on a service by my ISP called "public IP" (my ISP get money for this) that is not for free.. SO DON'T FOLLOW MY PREVIOUS TIP !!!!!
mrNickname
Omg forward your port to bypass NAT. Or even try DMZ to test."btw no one is helping since the only option is to roll back"You do understand software roll back dont you? That's what i meant. And my utorrent never crashed since i started using it 2 years ago, peps just always get into weird bugs like this for example.
Switeck
Just because you've been lucky and nobody's attempted to remotely crash your client doesn't mean that tomorrow+1 the hostiles out there don't start doing it on a regular basis. jewelisheaven
Indeed! You mean misconfigured or buggy software causes all problems with stable uT versions.
torrenteer
I must say that i fix the problem finally, erasing this folder:C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxxxxxxxxxxx\Dati applicazioni\uTorrentAnd using a default config ( i just set the speed type )Now even behind a NAT utorrent work very well, as usually !!
