nlx_78 Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Good day,The recent days i've uploaded around 15 movies. Yesterday i got an update-message for version 1.7.7. It installed while i was seeding my movies. But then my computer crashed. Gotta love Vista So when i started up again the whole list in my uTorrent was empty. Including the two downloads. But that isn't much of a problem.I just like to seed my uploaded movies again. But ofcourse when i try to add them again they start to download. And to be honest, i don't want to have 2 x 15 of the same movies. Is there a way to put the original torrents back into my client? At the moment i still have them in a folder on my HD, but as i said, when i try to add them, or even click on them, they start to download them as if they were new.I'm glad that most of them have 5 or more seeders at the moment. But as we all know that can change within one hour to only 1 or even 0 seeders. The reason i'd made these torrents is to share them with the world.Ok, hope you have enough info. If not, just ask.Greets,nlx_78 the Netherlandswww.thepiratebay.org/user/nlx_78 (maybe some of you'd like to download/seed them as well. Then i'm going to focus on uploading new movies). Thanks
GTHK Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 You have the original data, but the torrent starts brand new? If that's right, stop the torrent, right-click on it, select advanced, and choose set download location, then find the original data in that dialog, then select force re-check from the right-click menu, it should check that all the data is there and then seed it if everything checks out.
nlx_78 Posted February 2, 2008 Author Report Posted February 2, 2008 Ok, thanks. I will try that right away and tell in minute if it works.
GTHK Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Based on what you've uploaded, rechecking may take a little time, but is necessary, unless you have a copy of a corrupted resume.dat and wanna try repairing it to bring back your old torrents, I've never had to repair my own so I don't know how hard that would be... stick to the re-adding
nlx_78 Posted February 2, 2008 Author Report Posted February 2, 2008 Yes, thanks alot. It worked!!I tried one and will do it for the others as well, or at least, the ones less then 8 seeders. Maybe they should put this in the FAQ. I looked there first and searched on both DELETE and DELETED, but no results for this specific problem. This topic can be closed in my opinion. Thanks again GTHK
jewelisheaven Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Ultima's B.F.E. is one way to "repair" however if you've run uT in the meantime and indeed don't see your torrents under ALL category (F7) then it is lost. GTHK, repairing is not hard at all and when you've got a rock-solid uT backups are essential, because losing that much resume.dat is a %(
GTHK Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 jewelisheaven: Like I said, I've never done it before so I don't know what it would be like, I have poked at the files before with the Ultimas BFE out of curiosity, and to remove some directories in the add torrent history.nlx_78: No problem, I'm pretty much just lurking because I don't feel like doing anything right now XD
