ktm250exc Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 My downloads are pathetically slow, .1-15KBps at best. I've tried using a static IP address and forwarding a port through my router but I actually get faster speeds when I either use a random port or just use a dynamic IP. It seems like I've tried every setting under the sun but speed don't improve, and a lot of times downloads just stop all together. I ran a speed check and got 1387 Kbps, not blazing fast but still I think I should get faster than 10 kBps. Oh and while using a static IP and port forward, it does indicate the port is open when I run the open port test.
jewelisheaven Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 With that speedtest you should hit ~ 140 KiBps with http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/ . What speeds do you get?
ktm250exc Posted February 4, 2008 Author Report Posted February 4, 2008 With a static IP and verified open port, open office maxes out at about 6 kBps and all of my other downloads have just stopped altogether. I just tested download speed on several different sites and all show well over 1600 kbps. It seems to make no difference at all what settings I use, whether it's a static or dynamic IP, open port or random makes no difference. My upload rate is approx. 2-3 times the download rate.
