rnoble324 Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Hi, I have been using µtorrent for about 6 months now and about a little over a month ago, I started getting disconnected from my internet like 20 minutes into my downloads. I only download 1 item at a time and never got disconnected. I have a high speed connection and download at about 400-500 kb/sec. I was just wondering if someone else has had this problem and might know how to fix it. Please help me! Thanks.
AllGamer Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 maybe just recently your ISP started to throttle your connection (blocking p2p) it's very normalwhat is your ISP provider?
jewelisheaven Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Checking your configuration for encryption under Ctrl-P -> BitTorrent you may need to FORCE encryption and disallow unencrypted connections. If on the other hand the ISP uses another method for throttling your connection, try reducing your concurrent connections and limiting your upload more, as they are the two most common means to discourage filesharing. Shaping is a means to "workaround" the problems in infrastructure ISPs have failed to plan for. There's also some steps in addition to those in the How-To.
