Switeck Posted February 7, 2008 Report Posted February 7, 2008 Do you see an error message at the bottom that says "DOWNLOAD LIMITED"?If so, you might want to re-run Speed Guide (CTRL+G) in uTorrent and choose xx/256k.
cameron Posted February 8, 2008 Author Report Posted February 8, 2008 I don't get "DOWNLOAD LIMITED" and have always ran at xx/256k. Is there anything I should change in preferences that may help the drop in speed is quite large and I am unsure what I should be getting anyway.
Switeck Posted February 8, 2008 Report Posted February 8, 2008 Try disabling UPnP, DHT, Resolve IPs, and Local Peer Discovery in uTorrent.Reduce total and per-torrent connections to 50 or less.Shouldn't hurt much to even have max connections set as low as 10.Is your ISP hostile towards BitTorrent traffic? If so, does encryption help?Or does the latest v1.8 alpha of uTorrent get around their crippling effects any?
cameron Posted February 10, 2008 Author Report Posted February 10, 2008 Nothing seems to be helping, ISP if fine originally I was getting a download speed of 20 so the sudden change has me confuseed.
jewelisheaven Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 >< Capitalization belongs at the beginning of the sentence. Check with http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/ ... theoretical max on that download is 32, of which you may be able to get 25 on a good day... and when not uploading a heckuva lot. Has your ISP recently made any announcements about "network management" being enforeced in your area??
cameron Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 Capitalization belongs at the beginning of the sentence. What is this supposed to mean? I must appoligise I have just spoken to my ISP and they are the reason for the problems I have had, sorry to waste your time. There is no need to take shots at people all the time especially beginners of the utorrent service, once again thankyou for your help and patience and sorry about the unecessary questions.
Switeck Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 jewelisheaven was commenting on your first post on this thread being disjointed and hard to read, at least in part on the crazy capitalization of seemingly every word for no apparent reason.
