joeklemer Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 I cannot seem to open my forwarded port for utorrent. I have followed the guides and it still doesn't work. I have widows xp firewall and i found the exceptions tab and utorrent is an exception. Would it work if I clicked add a port at the bottom? If so should I select TCP or UDP? I hope this made sense.
jewelisheaven Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 All normal peer traffic requires TCP. UDP is for the options DHT and LPD you can use but are not necessary for being part of a swarm. Are you running any internet filtering software or security suite which could muck with your internet packets? Are you sure you checked the places in the How-To?? If so perhaps my post includes some places you haven't already tried?
joeklemer Posted February 9, 2008 Author Report Posted February 9, 2008 I am going to try to add a port. Correct me if my settings are wrong. I have them set up like this.Name:Utor1Port: My port #Scope: I am not sure wich option to choose for Utorrent. Should I choose.Any computerMy network onlyCustom list
jewelisheaven Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 I don't know, but I presume "any computer" is needed since you're accepting connections from any IP in the internet to your listening PORT. If you remove all the rules for uT, and enable in the Ctrl-P Preferneces "add uT to firewall exceptions" uT will add it for you.
joeklemer Posted February 9, 2008 Author Report Posted February 9, 2008 Ok I cannot get my port to work at all.
jewelisheaven Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 ... So please elaborate on specifics relevant to your situation??? What is your network layout, what is the router make/model, what is your modem make/model? Please run HiJackThis and copy-paste the log below.
