Yuusha Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 I seem to have a problem with downloading big files. It might happen with small files as well, but I've only noticed it with big files so far. After the download has been started for a few hours, I get this error: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested serviceNow, one would assume this meant that I was running out of RAM or CPU but... nope. I also have more than enough space available. Also, the problem can only be fixed if I restart my computer. Just restarting UTorrent isn't enough, because the problem comes back after about 1 minute of downloading.I am running Windows XP.1 GB RAMAMD Turion 64, 2.0GHzGeforce Go 7300It's a laptop, ASUSTek A6KmThanks in advance.
Switeck Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 Possibly malware or at least incompatible software is to blame. Please post a HijackThis! log and/or Process Explorer listing.

jewelisheaven Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 Spyware Doctor / PC Tools is a reported problem. Uninstall it and see if the problem persists.
Yuusha Posted February 10, 2008 Author Report Posted February 10, 2008 I've uninstalled it, but the only way for me to see if the problem has been fixed is by waiting to see if the problem appears again, which could take a long time.So I'll get back to you if the problem persists.

jewelisheaven Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 OK good point. What remedies the problem. Does the torrent error out? Do you need to restart it, re-check and then start it? Do you need to close uT and restart uT? Do you need to restart your computer? ... Most problem softawre hooks into uT, which causes something about it to beheave abnormally. You can see this by using Process Explorer... increased RAM / handles / resource usage over time is a sign something injected is to blame. You can verify this shouldn't happen by pasting a DLL list for uTorrent.exe (open procexp.exe, Ctrl-L, Ctrl-D, click utorrent.exe, Ctrl-A) and pasting it below.
