bandldf Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 For some reason when downloading from uTorrent, my fastest speed is only about 30kbs at it's fastest but I have a connection speed of 1.5MBS. Under the logger tab I get the following message[10:22:47] Error opening windows firewall: 0x80040154But under my network settings, the windows firewall is not enabled and the only firewall I have running is Sygate, I even turned off the firewall on my BELKIN modem with wireless - G routerAnyone have any idea on how to fix my problem any help would be greatly appreciated.Cheersbandldfbandldf@dodo.com.au
jewelisheaven Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 ooooh haven't seen dodo users in a while :/ I'm not sure how fast up and down you guys should get on a general torrent :/ I know you guys've got quotas, so I'd recommend trying OOo download http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/ for only a minute to see if you can actually hit ~150KiBps :/ Are you trying to hit over wireless from your belkin? Additionally your Speed Guide settings (Ctrl-P -> BitTorrent) should be cut in about 1/2 or 1/3 of their set from your upload speed since Belkin isn't known for making stable routers
bandldf Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 Cheers for the reply, I did a sample download and I can hit 156kbs, and my connection to the modem is via an ethernet cable. Just unsure how come I can acheive fast downloads of other files but using uTorrent, can only max at 30kbs?
Switeck Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Your ISP may be throttling BitTorrent traffic to 30 KiloBYTES/sec total.Or your global upload speed max in uTorrent is set to only 5 KiloBYTES/sec...or less.
