DoeLow Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 What settings must be changed in the system mechanic professional firewall or virus scan portion to make utorrent work correctly. Apon installation I can no longer download, it will not even show seeds or peers and it says waiting to log in on the bottom. but wish to still use the system mechanic program. I have gone through alot of settings and tested changes but I havent found the right path or stuff to make it workHELP!
jewelisheaven Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 I'd check the manual to see if you can set "program allow list" or "program exclusion" or "program rules".... they should be similar to the ones @ http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=7862
DoeLow Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 I have done everything like that that i can see possible and nothing works
jewelisheaven Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 Uninstall System Mechanic, if the problem goes away you need to figure out how to let uTorrent through its ... configuration :/
DoeLow Posted February 11, 2008 Author Report Posted February 11, 2008 yeah i knew that i was just tryin to find the work around aha
jewelisheaven Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 yea I'm pretty sure you'd get a more informed response asking around some System Mechanic forum :/ Here the policy generally is... Does the problem persist with software uninstalled?? No, then find a way to configure the software for uTorrent.exe as an exception, or get them to fix the software I'm not even sure how easy some of these problems would be to fix, but getting some information relevant helps. However in the case of System Mechanic if indeed it by default blocks ports and traffic... You should look for "port forwarding" or "program rules"... set the inbound port to what you use to uT, and allow from all IPs to connect there :/ For outbound traffic, if you have to make rules you can, but you need to make sure they're not already in use and then you have to configure uT to only draw from that range Ctrl-P -> Advanced net.outgoing_port ... which is explained more detail in the µManualIf you've got specific questions about "how do i" in uT, you can ask, but don't be surprised if you're nudged to re-read helpful manuals available again instead of a direct answer to your question "Give a man a fish....." parable is liked by many here.
Firon Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 Last I heard system mechanic caused crashes... But maybe it doesn't anymore.
