avatarspirit Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 hey guys, ive been running into problems lately and im completely lost!I have a Linksys WRT54G (cant support tomato) and I've got uTorrent 1.7.7.Everything was working fine until last month but then my wireless stopped working so I called linksys and they told me to upgrade firmware to Linksys's latest version. After doing so, I think utorrent is completely irresponsive. Everytim i have something I want to download, it displays no seeds, peers, etc. And at the bottom in General tab, the Tracker status, it says "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it."Now doing the port test, it displays port is blocked. Now i followed the guide at portforward.com for wrt54g and STILL no luck. I called Rogers (my ISP) and they cant obviously help me but they said they dont provide static ip... BUT even with a dynamic ip, my ports were 100% open before!! PLZ HELP!!!!!
AllGamer Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 did you do the port forwarding?Rogers blocks torrents, they don't like people doing P2P very much like their USA counterpart Comcast, see this chart for details:http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs#Canada
jewelisheaven Posted February 11, 2008 Report Posted February 11, 2008 The static IP part is on your router. The ISP only sees ONE computer (your router) at your connection. Be sure you setup your COMPUTER to have a specific IP. Double check it with start->run->cmd->ipconfig /all. Then put that into the forwarding rule on your ROUTER, on the PORT uT uses (Ctrl-G Speed Guide lists that)... Set it for inbound and outbound traffic if applicable. Also set it for TCP protocol at minimum... but UDP is also needed if you want to use DHT.
Firon Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 Can you even use torrents from here? http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/
